‘New contacts’: League leaders planning to make their move to sign ‘amazing’ Tottenham next week – journalist

Tottenham Hotspur academy product Japhet Tanganga is attracting a lot of interest this summer. And in the latest update, that AC Milan will make their move for him next week.

Tanganga may decide to leave Spurs this summer if he fails to force his way into Conte’s plans for next season. And the defender doesn’t seem to be short of options if he decides to move on.

The England U21 International has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks, with he’s attracted interest from AC Milan and Bournemouth, but Conte wants to watch the player before deciding his fate.

Newcastle United also reportedly want to take the 23-year-old on a season-long loan, with an obligation to buy the player.

AC Milan planning to make their move next week

But in the latest update, that ‘new contacts’ are planned for next week between AC Milan and Tottenham.

The journalist says the Serie A champions want to understand how much Spurs want for Tanaganga. He also states that La Liga outfit Valencia are interested in the Spurs man.

Translated the tweet reads as follows: “New contacts planned for next week between Milan and Tottenham to understand the possible costs of Tanganga . Operation possible on loan with redemption. For the player also a survey of Valencia.”

This comes after just over a week ago that Milan had the defender in their sights.

If reports are true, Tanganga has plenty of options on the table should he decide to leave Spurs for regular game time.

He has struggled to nail down a starting place at Tottenham, mainly down to his progress being hampered by injuries. The defender was sidelined from February for the remainder of last season after suffering a knee injury.

TBR’s View: Conte may be forced to make a decision sooner than he expected

Tanganga is currently in South Korea with the Spurs squad on their pre-season tour and reportedly Conte wants to take a close look at him before deciding whether to sell him.

But if the Italian champions come in with a decent bid for the defender, the Spurs boss may be forced to make a decision quicker than he expected to.

The Englishman is now 23 and will be keen to kick on and play regular first-team football. If Conte and Spurs can’t offer him that, Tanganga may decide it is time to move on and follow in ex-Chelsea man Fikayo Tomori’s footsteps.
