‘Never seen him have a bad game’… Brennan Johnson says Tottenham have a £10m player who never plays badly
Ben Davies is now Tottenham’s longest-serving player.
The Welsh defender is entering his 10th year as a Tottenham player, and while he’s never been the most most glamourous player, you don’t spend 10 years at a team like Spurs unless you have something about you.
Speaking on the , Brennan Johnson has been discussing Davies, having spent many years working with the defender at international level.
Johnson says he’s a big fan of Davies’ adaptability and consistency, claiming that he’s never actually seen the man have a bad game for Tottenham.

The winger spoke highly of his international teammate.
“He can adapt and come in when Micky got injured and Ben slotted in straight away. He was so solid especially in some tough games, it shows what he’s all about and his character, he can slot in at left-back and centre-back, and I’m with you. I’ve never seen him have a bad game,” Johnson said.
Never lets you down
Davies will probably never put in a 10/10 performance or win you a game on his own, but he’ll also never let you down.
The defender isn’t as talented as someone like Cristian Romero, but he’s also nowhere near as much of a liability at times.
Davies will get through any game without making any major errors, and while he’s not exactly someone who will take you to a Premier League title, he’s such a useful player to have in the squad as he can cover a number of positions and will always work hard for the team and be a steady player at the back.
Every team in the Premier League needs a player like Davies, someone you can depend on who will never let you down regardless of who he’s playing against or the size of game he’s playing in.
