‘Never’: John Terry outraged by what happened to one Arsenal player last night
John Terry has hit out at the red card shown to Arsenal defender David Luiz in Tuesday night’s Premier League defeat at Wolves.
The Brazilian, a former teammate of Terry’s at Chelsea, was shown a red card by referee Craig Pawson just before the break after he clipped Willian Jose in the area.
And upon a VAR check, both the sending off and the dismissal were upheld.

Ruben Neves scored the resulting spot-kick to restore parity after Nicolas Pepe’s opener, and Joao Moutinho then completed the hosts’ comeback by claiming a second-half winner.
Numerous fans and pundits were left outraged by the decision, claiming that no foul was committed, that any contact made was minimal, and that Luiz made a clear attempt to avoid touching his opponent.
Terry was one of those firmly criticising the decision, responding to a Sky Sports post on Instagram (via OsmanZtheGooner on Twitter):

Former Premier League official Mark Clattenburg also criticised the decision in the , saying “David Luiz was incorrectly sent off after giving away a penalty at Wolves — it should have been a yellow card… referee Craig Pawson and VAR Jon Moss got it wrong.”
According to the , Arsenal are in the process of submitting an appeal to the Football Association as they try to get Luiz’s ban overturned.
