Neil Warnock says Newcastle player is ‘easily’ one of the best in the Premier League in his position now
Neil Warnock has hailed Newcastle United summer signing Nick Pope.
In an interview with , Warnock said he would include Pope in his England squad for the World Cup later this year.
He said Jordan Pickford would be his number one choice for the Three Lions but that Pope is one of the best goalkeepers in the division.
Pope joined Newcastle from relegated Burnley earlier in the summer transfer window, offering Eddie Howe an upgrae between the sticks.

Neil Warnock hails Nick Pope
“I’m expecting big things from him at Newcastle,” said Warnock of Pope.
“I think he could easily be one of the best goalkeepers in the country in the next 12 months.”
Pope has established himself as a solid Premier League goalkeeper and needed to move back to the top flight to keep his England ambitions as topped up as possible.

He is now at a club who are upwardly mobile and could be realistic Europa League contenders in the final reckoning in May.
That battle between Newcastle’s number one and Jordan Pickford will be keenly watched by many Magpies over the course of the campaign.
He looks a really shrewd signing by Howe, who has generally prioritised Premier League experience with his signings thus far.
