Neil Redfearn says one Leeds player played ‘like someone who’s seven foot’ v Leicester
Leeds United defender Ethan Ampadu earned big praise from Neil Redfearn as the Whites recorded an outstanding 3-1 win over Leicester City on Friday night.
Daniel Farke‘s Leeds charges were a goal down to the Foxes going into the latter stages of the match at Elland Road.
However, Connor Roberts equalised in the 80th minute, which proved the catalyst for Leeds to bounce back and surge to a convincing victory.
Admittedly, Ampadu had a bit of a tough night overall. Leeds really lacked his presence in midfield and he wasn’t able to make as much of an impact as he would’ve liked.

Nonetheless, he did the best he could, getting plenty of touches of the ball and weighing in with a number of blocks and tackles.
Ampadu also won four ground duels and boasted a passing success rate of 91 percent, as per .
Redfearn loved what he saw from the Welshman, saying on : “Ampadu, in these last five or 10 minutes… fantastic.
“He’s not a big lad but he plays like someone who’s seven foot.”
Struggling Leeds rally round to secure late win over Leicester
Leeds fell behind in the 15th minute as the unmarked Wout Faes headed in unmarked from a Leicester corner.
The visitors were bright for much of the match, while the Whites struggled. Stephy Mavididi forced a good save from Illan Meslier while Patson Daka had a goal ruled out for offside.
However, Leeds managed to restore parity with just 10 minutes to go of normal time, Roberts firing home after a Jannik Vestergaard mistake.
Three minutes later, Archie Gray seemingly scored his first senior goal, an effort from inside the box that took a couple of deflections en route to goal.
Then, Patrick Bamford got the final touch on a Dan James effort to make it 3-1 and wrap up an unlikely – yet very euphoric and absolutely crucial – win for the Whites.
The result sees Leeds go three points clear of third-placed Ipswich Town in the Championship table.
The Whites are now also just six points behind table-topping Leicester.
