Neil Lennon hails Celtic attacker Ryan Christie for impact against St Mirren

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has praised Ryan Christie following his return from injury in the win over St Mirren on Wednesday night.

The Bhoys recorded a 2-0 away victory at St Mirren, as they took another step closer to another league title.

Timothy Weah opened the scoring with his header in the first-half and Christie marked his return from a thigh injury with a late goal after coming on as a substitute.

Lennon highlighted the importance of Christie following his impressive cameo in the second-half and it didn’t take him long to get back on top of his game.

“Getting Ryan Christie back is huge for us. You can see how he’s affected the game when he came on,”

“There’s a spark and he brings a level of creativity to our game, a little bit of pizzazz. He can go past people, he’s well-balanced, he’s got a real enthusiasm for the game, and I thought he just gave us a bit of a lift.”

TBR’s View:

Christie really has taken his game up another gear at Celtic this season and has become a serious goal threat.

The versatile attacker can play in central or wide areas and he could be crucial in the push for the domestic treble in the final stages of the campaign.

He’s made 36 appearances across all competitions this campaign, scoring 11 goals and supplying nine assists in return.

Christie is a shining example that the loan system can work a treat, as he’s now a key player in the first team at Parkhead after previously developing his game out on loan at Aberdeen.
