Neil Critchley raves about on-loan Arsenal talent Dan Ballard
Blackpool boss Neil Critchley heaped praise on Arsenal youngster Dan Ballard as his side slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic .
The Tangerines had a man sent off in the second minute of the contest with Ben Purrington’s sending off levelling the sides up again before the break.
A 0-0 draw looked on the cards with chances few and far between. The Addicks weren’t to be denied though and a late goal by Chuks Aneke ensured a disappointing night for Blackpool.

Ballard is a highly-rated member of the Arsenal development squad and he joined Critchley’s squad recently on loan.
The centre-back started the game on the bench but was introduced shortly after the early sending-off.
Critchley felt sympathy with his players for losing the game, reserving particular praise for the on-loan Arsenal man.
: “We had to change the game and bring Dan Ballard on, who I thought was excellent when he came on. He competed very well and played like a man.”
The 21-year-old will relish the chance to get some regular first-team football under his belt at Bloomfield Road.
Given his age, the ship might be sailing on his chances of earning regular first-team football at the Emirates Stadium.

That doesn’t mean he can’t go on and have a solid career in the Football League though and this loan move should do him good.
Ballard can also play in central midfield and the fact he is impressing his new boss already can only bode well.
