Neal Maupay says he’s so impressed with ‘amazing’ manager linked with replacing Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Neal Maupay has certainly had his fair share of drama with Tottenham Hotspur in recent years.
Before he departed Everton for Marseille in the summer, Maupay had some famous spats with Tottenham’s James Maddison regarding his dart celebration, which the Frenchman decided to do himself in N17.
The former Brentford striker certainly knows how to wind up opposition fans, a dying-breed of striker who is certainly never boring.
Of course, it’s fair to think that some Spurs fans will enjoy no longer facing Maupay in the Premier League, who has switched the English top flight for Ligue 1.
But in terms of Tottenham’s own travails in the league of late – Ange Postecoglou remains under serious pressure, Spurs obviously have no place being 14th in the Premier League.
Neal Maupay praises Brentford’s Thomas Frank after Tottenham links
As a result of Spurs’ woes this season, Daniel Levy might part ways with Postecoglou in the summer, with several managers already linked to the post.
One of them is Brentford’s current manager Thomas Frank who Maupay worked with extensively during the club’s rise to the Premier League.
Tottenham are interested in Frank and in a recent interview with , Maupay perhaps explained why he’d be a good choice for Levy.

Maupay said: “Thomas Frank is another top manager I’ve been lucky enough to work with.
“I first knew him when we were in the Championship and I was a very young player. We are very close.
“In terms of his management of the players and the way he makes us feel, he is absolutely amazing.
“The job he is doing at Brentford cannot go unnoticed because he took a small club into the Premier League for the first time ever, and you now think of Brentford as part of the Premier League.
“You don’t think of Brentford as a Championship club. He has done an amazing job and I’m sure he will have a long career as a manager.”
Ange Postecoglou’s future will be decided soon
Of course, many believe that Postecoglou’s future will depend on whether Spurs are able to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Postecoglou could be sacked if Tottenham fail to win the Europa League – a tall task for a club who have gone so long without a trophy.

But based on Spurs’ league season it’s perhaps a fair remit – Spurs have made very little progress this season even allowing some grace owing to their injuries.
Tottenham will invest in their squad this summer and they’ll need to ensure that they have their long-term manager in place to help make those decisions, who might still be Postecoglou if he’s successful.
A difficult situation, but one will become much clearer after two-legs against Eintracht Frankfurt.
