Nathaniel Clyne’s injury couldn’t come at worse time for him and Liverpool
If injury to Joe Gomez, who suffered a leg fracture against Burnley, was bad news for Liverpool, it was only made worse by the fact that Nathaniel Clyne has also been ruled out.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed on Friday that the right-back has not been in training for the past two weeks with an unknown injury problem which occurred just after he was last seen in action, being an unused substitute against Watford.
The only appearance for the 27-year-old this season remains a Carabao Cup appearance against Chelsea in late September and this could have given him a route back into the side as an alternative to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Clyne’s Liverpool future looks to be over with a January move seemingly likely as Klopp clearly does not count on the former England international this season. Even if he does, his fitness appears to be unreliable.
After recovering from concussion, Dejan Lovren is almost certain to replace Gomez in central defence but the youngster had also been deployed at full-back at times to rotate Alexander-Arnold.
Clyne’s latest injury not only leaves Liverpool’s squad looking more shallow than ever and his future is more uncertain than it has been in many years.
