Report: Club now want £100m for ‘phenomenal’ Arsenal target with Manchester United also keen
Arsenal could be forced to shell out £100m if they want to buy Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, with reports suggesting that’s the asking price now slapped on by the Italian club.
Osimhen has emerged as one of the most exciting attacking talents in Europe in recent seasons. The Nigerian striker has 11 goals in 22 this term to further enhance his reputation in the game. The Naples club paid more than £70m for Osimhen back in the summer of 2020.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Arsenal like the look of Osimhen and he’s on their list of potential targets in the summer. However, while Arsenal are willing to spend big on a striker, the now claims that Napoli have told Manchester United he’ll cost around £100m if they are to sell.
That sort of figure, of course, would take some parting ways with. It would eclipse the £70m+ Arsenal were said to be willing to spend on Dusan Vlahovic.
TBR’s View: £100m Is Too Much For Osimhen
While modern day transfer fees are enormous, for £100m you want a player who has the minimal amount of risk attached. Osimhen, while being a really good player, is not quite at the world-class level of some others in the world.
Of course, Osimhen is only 23 and there is huge potential with him. Further, the talent is there for all to see, with the striker a ‘phenomenon’ by Walter Mazzarri not too long ago.
However, at £100m, you’d have to question the logic. Arsenal, in particular, needs to get their big signing right. And for that money, they’d expect a bundle of goals, something Osimhen has yet to really provide.
