Arsenal fans react as Lucas Torreira is linked with Napoli switch

Napoli are preparing a £25 million loan-to-buy deal for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The 23-year-old arrived in London after the 2018 World Cup but has failed to scale the heights that many thought he would.

If Arsenal do allow the maestro to depart it is thought that Napoli would have an obligation to make the deal permanent during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are currently ninth in the Premier League after a miserable first half of the campaign.

With a new manager likely to be in place by January, the club may look to offload Torreira in a bid to boost the transfer kitty.

Arsenal would stand to lose money on the Uruguayan who cost £26 million from Sampdoria just 18 months ago.

Torreira has started eight league games for the Gunners this season and he is down the pecking order.

At 23, the man with 23 caps for his country is still to fulfil his true potential. If Arsenal can get close to their money back for the player, however, it is certainly worth thinking about.
