Napoli leave Allan out of latest friendly squad as talk of Everton move intensifies

Everton have been handed a potential boost in their pursuit of Napoli midfielder, Allan, with the Italian club leaving him out of their latest pre-season friendly.

Per a report from the , the 29-year-old appears to have been given a strong indication as to where Gennaro Gattuso sees him, having been left out completely by the Serie A club.

The news could well indicate that a move is in the offing for Allan, who has been linked with the Toffees for a number of months now as Carlo Ancelotti looks to add quality to the ranks.

Allan had been a regular and dominant performer for Napoli for a number of seasons but has seemingly fallen out of favour with Gattuso now in charge of the club.

A move to the Premier League, then, looks set to happen, with Carlo Ancelotti said to be a big fan of the Napoli man.

This has been one of the longest and protracted and potential transfers in a long time, so it’s about time something was done about it.

Hopefully for Everton, this move by Gattuso is the final confirmation Allan needed and the club can now press ahead with signing him. However, no fee has yet to be agreed it seems and Everton also has other irons in the fire, such as Abdoulaye Doucour and Olivier Ntcham.

Allan is someone who Ancelotti admires a lot, though. If after all this time the Toffees don’t sign him, then there’ll be an air of disappointment you’d imagine around Goodison Park.
