Nahitan Nandez’s agent says player wants exit, amid Newcastle and Leeds links
that his client wants to leave Argentine side Boca Juniors this summer – which will come as a big boost for Leeds United and Newcastle United.
earlier this week that both Leeds and Newcastle were interested in the 23-year-old. Newcastle were also linked in the summer, while AS Roma and Cagliari are also keen.
Nandez is a player with plenty of calibre. Indeed, the former Penarol star played at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Copa Libertadores final, as well as starring for Uruguay in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The report from CalcioMercato claims interested parties can sign Nandez – who has a contract until 2020 – for £17million. Now, Bentancur’s agent has stated his client wants to leave, putting Leeds and Newcastle on alert.

“I’m talking to so many teams,” “Nahitan has further experience behind it. He wants to leave Boca, it’s time to play in Italy or England. A player like this, with this strength and temperament, would be good for many.”
TBR’s view
Nandez is a top-class player. Newcastle desperately need a central midfielder, given Mo Diame’s contract could expire, while doubts remain over the future of Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey.
Leeds, meanwhile, could also do with Nandez. Promotion would be key to landing the player, but they are certainly lacking in top-quality depth and Nandez would bulk the ranks.
Nandez has a big decision to make. It would be hard to ignore the lure of Roma, but his chances of regular football are smaller compared to Leeds and Newcastle. Claudio Ranieri, Rafa Benitez or Marcelo Bielsa? Tough choice.
