Nacho Monreal sends message to Arsenal duo after return from injury
Arsenal secured a safe passage into the last 16 of the Carabao Cup last night with a resounding 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
Gabriel Martinelli (2), Rob Holding, Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson ensured a rout for the Gunners who will find out their next round opponents this evening.
Two players made their long-awaited return from injury last night for Unai Emery’s team. Holding made his first appearance for 10 months and completed 90 minutes; whilst Hector Bellerin stepped off the bench to make his own comeback.

The duo returning along with Kieran Tierney who was also making his debut will give Emery something of a selection headache in the coming weeks as they all approach full match sharpness.
One summer departure from the Emirates Stadium was certainly happy to see Bellerin and Holding return. Nacho Monreal swapped London for San Sebastian this summer, signing for Real Sociedad.
Following the game, he tweeted his delight at seeing his former team-mates back out on the pitch:
So happy for and . It has been a long way but with patience, sacrifice and a lot of work you are back again.
Good people deserve the best and you are two of them 🙌
Feliz por…— Nacho Monreal (@_nachomonreal)
Monreal, 33, spent six years with the Gunners playing 351 times for the club, scoring 10 goals and registering 20 assists.
He clearly still holds the Gunners close to his heart and made some pretty good friends during his team in North London.
For Holding and Bellerin, the challenge is now clear. Stay fit, find some form and work their way back into Emery’s plans for the remainder of the campaign.
