‘Full of energy’: Klopp says £48m Liverpool player is ready to play this weekend’
Liverpool will return to action this weekend in the FA Cup, as they take on Cardiff City at Anfield.
The Reds are looking to put a run together in the FA Cup after failing to win the competition since the mid 2000s. It’s a record Klopp is acutely aware of, and he has mentioned it during his press conference this morning.

However, more immediate pressing matters are on team selection. And in what is good news for Liverpool and Klopp, the German coach has revealed that midfielder Naby Keita is back from the AFCON and raring to go this weekend.
“Naby is completely fine. He came back full of energy. Had a few days off. He came back after the tournament full of confidence so that’s all good,” Klopp of the dynamic midfield star.
The Guinea international, 26, hasn’t quite had the success that some of his Liverpool teammates have had over in Africa this month. Both Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will go head to head in the tournament’s showpiece finale.
But for Liverpool, having Keita back and back fit is a bonus. The midfielder has yet to really kick on ever since signing for . Klopp, then, will be hoping his man can produce the goods in the coming months.
TBR’s View: Chance For Keita And Liverpool This Weekend
Most inside Liverpool want Naby Keita to really do well. There have been flashes, but he’s not shown anything like what many expected when he signed.
However, now back fit and firing, this is a chance for Keita. Cardiff, with all due respect, are having a bit of a nightmare and while the magic of the FA Cup could rear its head, this should be a comfortable day for Liverpool.
Keita, then, will be hoping to seize his chance if given the nod this weekend.
