‘My talent would come out’; Yannick Bolasie addresses his future after zero games

Yannick Bolasie has addressed his future after zero appearances for Everton this season. He faces a very tough task at Goodison Park.

It’s difficult to know where Yannick Bolasie sees his future. The winger hasn’t played a single game for Everton this season and wasn’t in their Premier League squad.

That’s quite a position to be in, given it’s only four years . Still, that he’s doing what he can to create a future for himself.

“It’s disappointing,” he said. “I can continue to keep working, to play to the best of my ability, and train to the best of my ability. That’s what I’m doing right now.

“I’m not counting myself out of anything because I believe eventually, my talent would come out wherever it is, wherever I am. I believe what I’m doing right now, I’m doing myself well.”

TBR View:

It’s virtually impossible for Bolasie to get back into the Everton setup, you’d think. He’s 31, for one, which doesn’t make giving him minutes a great investment.

But he’s also on the back of back-to-back loans that didn’t work out. First, he didn’t set the Championship alight when with Aston Villa. Then he struggled in Portugal with Sporting.

Put it all together and it’s tough to see how he gets back in at Everton. It’s now years since Bolasie has looked like an exciting Premier League player and the Toffees are a team looking forwards right now.

Fingers crossed Bolasie can find the club for him, though. He was once a very exciting Premier League player – there’s a reason Everton paid that money, after all. He just needs to find the right one who’s willing to give him a chance.
