‘My suitcase is already packed’: £73,077-a-week Tottenham player has just suggested he’s ‘leaving’ Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur star Steven Bergwijn has all but confirmed that he is leaving Spurs this summer.
The Dutchman has had a torrid time in North London. Everyone expected him to become a star after his sensational debut against Manchester City two-and-a-half years ago, but things just haven’t worked out for him.
Antonio Conte bringing in Dejan Kulusevski in January further pushed the Dutch attacker down the pecking order, and the Juventus man’s stunning form meant Bergwijn was never getting in the side ahead of him.
Almost everyone expected Bergwijn to move on this summer, and the star has broken his silence now.
Steven Bergwijn says he is leaving Tottenham Hotspur
Speaking to the Dutch media yesterday, Bergwijn said, as per : “Several clubs have come forward. Now, I just have to find a solution for myself that benefits both parties. I’m leaving.
“We’ve talked about that (lack of game time). But no, I don’t feel cheated (by Antonio Conte). I respect his choices and I have no problem with him at all. In the games I came in, I showed what I can do, scored my goals and provided assists.
“At one point I really didn’t know what to do to get into the team. However, I never made any problems. But, now is the time to leave, you could say that my suitcase is already packed.
“I cannot afford another season like this, and mentally it’s tough too.”

TBR View:
Tottenham’s front-three of Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Kulusevski is unlikely to change unless there’s a big injury to one of them.
Even if he stays and decides to fight for his place, Bergwijn just won’t get into the side next season, which makes a move away from North London the best thing for all parties this summer.
If Bergwijn does leave in the coming weeks, his Spurs career will come to an end after playing just 83 games and scoring only eight goals in two-and-a-half years in North London.
That’s not a great record at all, but he’s still only 24, and a move to a club where he can play every game could help him fulfil his massive potential in the very near future.
