‘My little brother’…Alejandro Garnacho reacts on Instagram after Tottenham announcement on Wednesday

Alejandro Garnacho and Bryan Gil were amongst those to react as Tottenham Hotspur announced the loan departure of Sergio Reguilon on Wednesday.

Sergio Reguilon has joined Brentford on loan for the rest of the season after an eventful start to the month.

Of course, Reguilon went into the January transfer window at Manchester United. The 27-year-old made the move to Old Trafford right at the end of the summer. Unfortunately, he was unable to really prove himself to Erik ten Hag during the first-half of the season.

Alejandro Garnacho wishes Sergio Reguilon well after Brentford loan move

Manchester United were apparently happy with Reguilon. Nevertheless, United did not see the need to keep him for the rest of the campaign.

Ange Postecoglou did not intend to use the former Real Madrid man upon his return. And with that, he has now got the green light to join the Bees.

Thomas Frank’s side have been without Rico Henry since the early weeks of the season due to injury. And thus, Reguilon has been brought in to cover for Henry.

Reguilon has now taken to to comment on the move to the Gtech Community Stadium. And Alejandro Garnacho was one of those to wish the left-back well…

Spurs will hope defender thrives during second loan

It does appear that Reguilon is unlikely to have much of a future at Tottenham, particularly while Ange Postecoglou remains in charge.

However, it is important for Spurs that he does do well while he is away from the club. They will hope to secure a significant transfer fee for him in the summer. And a positive spell at Brentford could definitely help.

Postecoglou has done brilliantly with so many players this season. So it is surprising that he has not seen a place for him in his ranks.

It looks to be a potential coup for Brentford. But the full-back has a point to prove after struggling to impress during his time alongside Garnacho at Manchester United.
