🌳Spurs seem determined to make the most of the loan market in their new, forward-thinking era.

As well as the likes of Joe Rodon and Sergio Reguilonꦰ, who are senior players enhancing their sell-on value during loan spells away, Tottenham also have youngsters trying to ready themselves for the first team.

And to that end, Plymouth Argyle will be something of a second team for Tottenham fans this season, with both Alfie Devine and Ashley Phillips playing their football at the club.

𝔉Both are exciting prospects for Postecoglou’s side, but still have progress to make.

๊And although Phillips started pretty seamlessly at centre-back back in the Championship, it hasn’t always been so easy for Devine.

ꦗHowever, when given a start in the number 10 role last night, Devine arguably produced his best performance of his loan spell yet.

Tottenham fans will be pleased to hear Alfie Devine is improving out on loan

🔜Plymouth drew 2-2 against Coventry City last night, conceding an unfortunate late equaliser.

💫But it was a positive night for Devine, who earned applause in match ratings.

🍨Tottenham fans will be pleased to hear comments that Devine is now starting to look as he’s settling during his Plymouth loan.

🃏And reacting to his performance, the website wrote: “After a slightly disappointing start to his loan spell from Tottenham this was much better from the 19-year-old as he showed signs of starting to settle into Ian Foster’s side as one of the two ‘number 10s’ along with Morgan Whittaker

꧂“Devine got on the ball more and when in possession his use of it was accurate and positive.”

♑Ashley Phillips did also make his seventh consecutive start, and was handed a seven out of 10 for his showing.

So all in all it was a positive night for Tottenham’s young loanees, who do hold a lot of potential.

That being said, ܫSpurs are now leading the way to sign a player with a very high ceiling.
