Moussa Sissoko linked with loan, Graham Roberts fires warning to Tottenham

Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko has emerged as a transfer target for Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin,

The midfielder has made five appearances in Jose Mourinho’s team, starting three times.

Loaning him out would perhaps come as a surprise, with Spurs still competing in four competitions.

Sissoko played the full 90 minutes yesterday as Tottenham thumped Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford.

With that in mind, it would seem a strange one for Mourinho to sanction a loan move for the midfielder.

With Sergio Reguilon, Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius being added to the ranks this summer there could be a requirement to get some players out of the door.

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is set to arrive at Berlin ahead of a season-long loan and it’s unsure whether that might end any interest in Sissoko.

The player who can operate in central midfield or on the right is paid by Spurs and getting those wages off the books for a year would certainly balance the books.

A former Spurs hero doesn’t think it’s a great idea to offload Sissoko though.

Graham Roberts took to Twitter this morning following news of a potential departure, with a stark warning for Tottenham:

Mourinho seems relatively happy with his squad and if Sissoko was to leave it would come as a surprise.

Not least due to the fact that he played only yesterday during such a substantial win for the club.

If the Portuguese boss didn’t fancy Sissoko then surely he wouldn’t have placed his trust in him on the day before deadline day.

Tottenham signed Sissoko for £30 million from Newcastle in 2016. He has made 165 appearances for the club.
