Mourinho linked with Wolves star Semedo, but Tottenham need to elbow him aside – TBR View

New Roma manager Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to raid Wolverhampton Wanderers and take right-back Nelson Semedo to Serie A this summer – but surely the ex-Barcelona defender would be the perfect addition at Tottenham Hotspur?

Mourinho has been linked with a whole host of Premier League stars, just moments after penning a three-year deal at Roma – a fortnight following his sacking by Tottenham. Numerous Tottenham players are said to be on his summer shortlist.

that Eric Dier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Carlos Vinicius are options for Roma and Mourinho – as are plenty of others. Man City’s Nathan Ake, Leicester’s Ricardo Pereira, and Villa’s Anwar El Ghazi are options.

Two Wolves players are also mentioned in Rui Patricio and Portugal international Semedo. The 27-year-old has been a regular for Wolves since his £29million () move from Barcelona, and while he has not been his best, he is still a top right-back.

Spurs, meanwhile, are in desperate need for a right-back. Matt Doherty was signed by Spurs from Wolves last summer but the Ireland international has really struggled in London, while Serge Aurier looks as though he will be sold in the coming months.

say PSG, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan want 28-year-old Aurier – who is about to enter the last 12 months of his Spurs contract. It means Daniel Levy will have to sell this summer, and a fee of £10.5million is expected.

So, Spurs need a replacement with Aurier likely to go and Doherty struggling – and elbowing Mourinho aside to sign Wolves star Semedo would be an excellent bit of business, especially if they can get him for a similar fee to the one Wolves paid.
