Morgan Gibbs-White issues four-word message to Elliot Anderson after his England U21 performance

Nottingham Forest are now preparing for their return to Premier League action on the weekend following the latest international break.

The last of the international fixtures have now been played with Forest coming up against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo will, therefore, have a little bit longer to work with his players before they next take to the pitch at the City Ground.

But the Portuguese manager will have to consider the tight turnaround with their following game coming on Friday night against Leicester City.

A number of players are returning to Forest following their international call-ups and there is one who really impressed Morgan Gibbs-White.

Morgan Gibbs-White impressed by Elliot Anderson’s England U21 display

Summer signing Elliot Anderson has spent the last week or so away with the England U21 camp where he was in action on Tuesday evening.

The midfielder started the game in Bristol against Azerbaijan where England won in emphatic fashion with a 7-0 victory.

Anderson has already won Forest’s Player of the Month award since leaving Newcastle United after what has been a solid start at the City Ground.

Anderson played the full 90 minutes for England U21s on Tuesday in Bristol where he was able to return a goal in the 7-0 victory.

The Forest midfielder was even named the Player of the Match following the full-time whistle following his impressive display.

Taking to Instagram after the game, Anderson celebrated his first goal in an England shirt with a selection of photos from the game.

And his Forest teammate, Gibbs-White replied to the post by saying: ‘Love it bro, congrats.”

Since landing at the City Ground, Anderson has been able to rack up six starts in the Premier League under Nuno.

The 21-year-old’s only goal contribution came through an assist in the game against Wolves but he has maintained a regular spot in the side.

And his potential is there for all to see with performances like Tuesday night’s against Azerbaijan.

Thankfully, Anderson is returning to Forest without any injury scares as they look to get back on track following their first defeat of the league season.
