‘More than anything’…50-year-old Champions League winner wants to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is coming under pressure as his team’s form continues to stutter and Jim Ratcliffe’s partial takeover gets into full swing.
Ten Hag has had question marks over him for some time now but a decent run of form over the last few months has seen United go back into the top four race.
However, with Ratcliffe now taking charge of footballing matters, there’s a real spotlight over Ten Hag heading into the summer. A number of managers have been suggested as replacements for him, including the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Graham Potter.

But according to journalist Dean Jones, it former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel who he feels would fancy taking the Old Trafford job on more than anything right now.
Thomas Tuchel to Manchester United
Writing for , journalist Jones believes that Tuchel would love the Manchester United job.
“I think Tuchel will want the job. More than anything, I think he needs to feel like he still has what it takes to run a big club after the bad times he’s had at Chelsea and Bayern Munich. I think that that has to be considered one of his motivating factors. Nagelsmann personally wouldn’t fill me with that much confidence. I don’t think there’s any guarantee with those two that it goes better than Ten Hag. You might think that Tuchel has got a bit more behind him in terms of experience. But you look at those last two jobs and think, ‘How has he not made a success of those two? What on earth could he do with us?’” Jones .
Tuchel is due to depart Bayern Munich in the summer after a disastrous spell in charge.
Coincidentally, Tuchel’s nightmare with Bayern is going to allow potential new Liverpool manager, Xabi Alonso, to win the Bundesliga title.
Indeed, both could be back in England come the summer and battling it out once again at the top of one of the best leagues in the world.
Tuchel won the Champions League with Chelsea and is highly-regarded in world football still, while Alonso is seen as one of the top up and coming coaches in the world.
