‘More surprised’: David Ornstein has update on Archie Gray’s future at Leeds United

Leeds United starlet Archie Gray is quickly emerging as one of the most in-demand talents outside of the Premier League right now.

Gray has played a key role for Leeds all season under Daniel Farke, despite not even being 18 yet.

Naturally, there is interest in Gray from above. Manchester United are known to admire the Leeds youngster, while both Tottenham and Liverpool have been linked with a move for Gray as well.

However, according to , nothing is certain when it comes to Gray’s future, albeit interest was always bound to be there.

Archie Gray attracting interest with Leeds form

Writing in his latest Q&A piece, Ornstein has said that he’d be more surprised if there weren’t clubs sniffing around Gray.

“I would be more surprised if there wasn’t interest but this doesn’t mean he will leave. He has just signed a new contract and perhaps even if offers came in, he would choose to stay. The financial situation at Leeds (like Leicester, for example) means promotion back to the Premier League is vital and that would override the desire to sell Gray, who turns 18 in March. If that aim is not achieved, the vultures are expected to circle and some tough decisions will need to be made,” Ornstein .

Destined for the top

Anyone who has watched Archie Gray this season will attest to just how good he is. The youngster has been absolutely sensational for Leeds and the fact he is still 17 is remarkable.

Regardless of if Leeds get promoted, Archie Gray is destined for the very top. Someone will pay the money for him if Leeds let him go and over time, he’ll be worth that big money.

Sometimes, a young player comes along who simply looks like they’ve been playing the game for years already. Archie Gray is one of those players and he is destined for a huge career with a huge club.
