More bad news for Tottenham as ‘brilliant’ winger has picked up a hamstring injury

Tottenham and injuries seem to have gone hand in hand with each other this season and their rotten run looks to be continuing.

Spurs have seen big injuries hit some of their top players like James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, while the likes of Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur have had knocks.

And while some of those top stars are now back, with Maddison playing last night for example, the run of injuries doesn’t seem to be ending.

According to young winger Jamie Donley is the latest player to pick up a problem. Like so many in the Premier League this season, Donley has a hamstring issue.

The good news is that the report states the hamstring injury is minor and that Donley should be back soon enough. The youngster has been involved this season after impressing Ange Postecoglou and will be hoping to contribute in the second half of the season.

Described as a ‘brilliant’ young player for his performances at under-21 level, Donley is among a number of Spurs youngsters pushing hard to break into the first-team.

Injuries a big problem at Tottenham and beyond

This season really seems to have been a bit of an issue for clubs in terms of injuries.

Tottenham have been hit hard by injuries to key players but other sides have also suffered, with the likes of Newcastle and Sheffield United hit hard as well.

For Tottenham, seeing another hamstring and muscle problem for a player will be a concern. Of course, this one does sound like it’s nothing too major and Donley should recover just fine.

But ahead of next season, Tottenham will need to try and get more of a grip on the situation and they’ll hope to have a bit more luck as well.

Injuries have threatened to derail their season and it’s a minor miracle they remain so firmly in the top four hunt.
