‘Monster’ defender proving be real bargain after £16m move, Antonio Conte will regret not signing him now – TBR View

Kim Min-Jae is proving to be a real bargain for Napoli after making the switch this summer and Antonio Conte will regret not signing him for Tottenham Hotspur now.

Spurs’ interest in Min-Jae has been well documented and reports even suggested that Conte had green-lighted a deal for this summer.

But the 25-year-old made the switch from Fenerbahce to Napoli this summer for a fee worth around £16 million () and has made a huge impact.

, Min-Jae has been in impressive form for Luciano Spalletti’s men this season.

The South Korean international has already scored two goals in six games from centre-back and has impressed during Napoli’s Champions League campaign so far.

Min-Jae also put in a solid performance against Premier League giants Liverpool as Napoli thrashed Jurgen Klopp’s men 4-1.

And after his displays this season, Tottenham may not regret not snapping up the defender beforehand.

Min-Jae proving to be real bargain

Conte is certainly well-stocked in the defensive department after adding Clement Lenglet to his squad this summer.

But the Italian lacks real competition for Eric Dier’s position in the centre of his back-three.

Dier has been in brilliant form for Spurs once again this season but Conte could be left short in the area if the Englishman suffers an injury.

Min-Jae could have been the perfect option for Conte to allow him to rotate his side, while providing quality back-up for Dier.

Just this week, .

Of course, Spurs may have had doubts over Min-Jae’s ability to play in one of Europe’s top leagues after spells in the Turkish and Japanese leagues.

But after his displays for Napoli so far, it seems that Tottenham have missed out on a top-quality defender.
