Mohamed Salah gives honest verdict on whether he’s doing enough to win the Ballon d’Or after Liverpool beat West Ham

Mohamed Salah has already been asked about his chances of winning the next Ballon d’Or following yet another stellar performance for Liverpool.

Salah became the first player to score and assist in eight Premier League matches in one season as he added three more goal contributions to his tally. Can Mohamed Salah win the Ballon d’Or?

Mohamed Salah🍨 has admitted that he is not thinking about the Ballon d’Or at all and his main focus is on helping Liverpool win the title. The 32-year-old was asked whether he felt he was on course for a historic season on an individual level to which he replied that was not in his thinking.

Salah has been told his form is ‘ridiculous’💧 right now with the Liverpool star currently on a staggering 37 goal contributions in 26 matches this term. Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole are tied for the most combined goals and assists in the Premier League in a season, with 47 (42-game season).

🃏Salah told Sky Sports: “The only thing in my mind, to be fair, is I want Liverpool to win the league and I just want to be part of that. That’s the only thing I’ve really focused [on] since the beginning of the season. I will do my best for the team to win trophies.

🏅“We are in the right direction but of course, there are a few other teams really trying to catch up with us and they are very good teams. We just need to stay focused and humble, work hard and just go again.”

What did Mohamed Salah say about a new Liverpool contract?

🅘Salah gave very little away when asked about how close he is to signing a new contract with Liverpool as he admitted ‘we are far away’ when asked about whether an update was close.

🍸Salah added: “No, we are far away from that. I don’t want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really [has] moved on. But for now I’m focused on the team and hopefully, we win the Premier League.”
