Celtic midfielder Mohamed Elyounoussi predicts that Jeremie Frimpong will have a bright future if he stays grounded, .
Elyounoussi and Frimpong both starred in Celtic’s win over Aberdeen at the weekend. Both players were on the scoresheet as Celtic smashed in four first-half goals at Pittodrie to seal a convincing win.
Frimpong netted Celtic’s second goal after a meaningful run allowed him to bundle past Joe Lewis. Elyounoussi made it four just before half-time and Frimpong played a role in the build-up.
The teenage right-back ventured forward again, had a cross blocked but then passed to Tom Rogic, whose cross found Elyounoussi. The Norway midfielder took the ball down on his chest and acrobatically turned it into the net.
Elyounoussi on Frimpong

After the game, Elyounoussi praised his Celtic team-mates. But he reserved some special words for Frimpong.
Elyounoussi said (): “Jeremie has quick feet and is very brave for his age. He needs to keep his feet on the ground and keep working hard. He’s still in the early stages of his career and if he’s humble and works hard, he can have a great career.”
TBR’s view
Frimpong joined Celtic on a permanent deal from Manchester City in the summer. And the 18-year-old is already looking like a shrewd piece of business. He could be the long-term answer at right-back for Celtic.
Despite his young age, the Netherlands youth international does not seem fazed. He is confident on the ball and eager to get forward to join the attacks. After three exceptional performances in the league and the cup, perhaps a Europa League debut is soon.
