‘Mobile, aggressive, confident’: Martin Keown utterly blown away by 24-year-old Tottenham player
Martin Keown has lauded Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur in his latest column.
Spurs struck gold in the January transfer window by bringing Bentancur and Kulusevski to N17.
Tottenham had to wait right until deadline day before getting any signings over the line.

But Bentancur and Kulusevski were definitely worth the wait.
The 24-year-old has been sensational for Tottenham and is the ideal partner midfielder for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Meanwhile, Kulusevski has added a new dimension to Spurs’ right flank and unlocked his teammates’ potential.
Both players have helped Antonio Conte’s side surge back into top-four contention.
Although Spurs have still struggled for consistency, two consecutive league wins and four from five shows they’re on the right track.
“This set-up is destroying defences”
Keown loves what he’s been seeing from Tottenham’s January recruits.
“There’s a good balance to Tottenham’s midfield,” he wrote in the Daily Mail.
“With new signing Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg complementing each other well.
“They alternate in attacks — while one sits, the other breaks forward into the box — and have been covering tremendous distances.
“Like Kulusevski, Bentancur has been an excellent addition, giving Conte exactly what he wants as a mobile, aggressive, confident midfielder.
“All of this means Tottenham get numbers in the final third and, with Kane continuing to drop deep to play provider to Son, this set-up is destroying defences.”
There’s no doubt that Bentancur and Kulusevski have made Tottenham so much better.
Spurs are still a work in progress, but the pieces are finally coming together.
And come the summer, when Paratici and Conte can really make wholesale changes, it’ll be exciting to see who else arrives at N17.
Spurs are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Newcastle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
