‘Miles in front’: Crouch delivers Arsenal verdict as Leicester City win FA Cup

Peter Crouch has claimed that Leicester City are way ahead of Arsenal following the Foxes FA Cup triumph over the weekend and UEFA Champions League qualification in sight.

, the pundit believes that Brendan Rodgers’ side are ‘miles in front’ of the Gunners following their latest success on the pitch, with Leicester beating Chelsea 1-0 to claim their first FA Cup in their history, a competition the Gunners have won a record 14 times in their history.

The former Premier League striker also delivered the verdict that Leicester are a ‘proper football club’ given their rise over the years under the former Celtic manager, with the Foxes coming close to Champions League qualification last season and looking likely to not repeat the same mistake a second time around this campaign.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have not qualified for Europe’s elite club competition since 2016, and this season look extremely likely to miss out on continental football altogether, with the Gunners currently sitting in ninth in the Premier League table with two games left to play.

TBR View: Leicester model and ownership is what Arsenal fans are dreaming of

This weekend was full of heartwarming videos of Leicester City owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha being ushered onto the pitch by players to celebrate the FA Cup triumph with them on the famous Wembley pitch. Yet for supporters of Arsenal, the images and clips showed as a stark reminder as to not only how far they have fallen, but that Stan or Josh Kroenke would never show the squad that level of passion or love.

Arsenal’s owners have been fiercely criticised in recent weeks following the fallout from the European Super League, with the majority of fans wanting the Kroenke’s to sell up and give the keys to the club to someone willing to invest and show their support the team, and images of Srivaddhanaprabha celebrating with Leicester players only goes to fuel envy amongst the Gunners fandom.
