Celtic’s youngsters have won the Glasgow Cup after a dramatic clash with rivals Rangers last night. At 2-0 up, it appeared Celtic had the game wrapped up. However, a quickfire brace from Rangers’ flying winger Glenn Middleton had the teams all level.
But Robbie Deas’ late strike earned the win and bragging rights yet again for Celtic.
There were some great performances from both sets of players, but perhaps none more so than Celtic’s Mikey Johnston.
He scored a tremendous free-kick in the game and simply looked to be playing at a class above the rest of the players on the pitch.

Johnston had something of a breakthrough with the first-team this season, thriving over two games in December.
However, he soon found himself flagging and struggled immensely in the 1-0 Old Firm defeat at the end of 2018.
So the 20-year-old appears to be in limbo. He is too good for the reserves but perhaps not ready for the Celtic first-team.
The solution, therefore, appears to be a loan deal. Joining another team in the Scottish top-flight could be the making of Johnston and Celtic should seriously consider allowing him a temporary exit in the summer.
It could be what helps him develop into a top striker at Parkhead.
