Mikel Arteta might never use £50m Arsenal star again after this weekend
Arsenal take on Brentford in the Premier League this weekend, and Aaron Ramsdale could make his final appearance for the club in that game.
Mikel Arteta has had to make some big decisions this season and all of them have paid off so far, including his move to drop Ramsdale and pick David Raya as his number one. The latter is ineligible for the game against the Bees on Saturday.

Aaron Ramsdale could make his final Arsenal appearance vs Brentford
Arsenal signed Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021 in a £30 million deal ().
A number of people were against this move as they just didn’t believe he was good enough for Arsenal after suffering relegations in each of his previous two seasons. Mikel Arteta, however, was adamant that Ramsdale was the one, and he got the deal done.
The Englishman quickly became a fan favourite at the Emirates and performed brilliantly. He was arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League last term and even got into the PFA Team of the Season.
Ramsdale’s fortunes haven’t been great this term. He was dropped after the international break in September and has played just once in the Premier League since – against Brentford in November.
Now, the Bees come to the Emirates, and Ramsdale will start for Arsenal again as David Raya is ineligible to play against Brentford as they are his parent club.
We believe this will be Ramsdale’s final appearance in an Arsenal shirt as Raya is expected to play in every single game until the end of this season after this weekend, and the Englishman is expected to leave in the summer.

Ramsdale likely to leave Arsenal in the summer
Aaron Ramsdale is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League – some even think he’s better than David Raya. He is just too good to be sitting on the bench every week.
However, Raya is Arsenal’s undisputed number one now, and his loan move from Brentford will be made permanent in the summer. It’s extremely unlikely he will lose his place in the side.
That’s why Ramsdale will likely consider his options, and reports have claimed that clubs like Newcastle United and Chelsea are interested in signing the goalkeeper.
Arsenal fans love Ramsdale and it would be a real shame to see him move on. However, that just might be the best thing for all parties involved.
