Mikel Arteta makes exciting claim about Riccardo Calafiori after first Arsenal goal

Beside Leandro Trossard, Mikel Arteta could have praised any other of his Arsenal players following their heroic efforts against Manchester City.

Trossard left Arsenal i♛n an incredibly precarious spot, whether his sending off was harsh or not.

After Declan Rice’s second yellow and suspension against Brighton & Hove Albion a few weeks before, one of Arsena♎l’s eᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚxperienced heads should have known better.

That being said, Arteta reacted well at half-time, deciding to deploy Arsenal in a 5-4-0, with no emphasis ⭕on going forwards.

To that end, Kai Havertz didn’t even complete a pass for Arsenal, a statistic which aptly demonstrates how꧟ much ღhe was having to defend.

Of course, Arsenal’s efforts were eventually in vain, at least in terms of taking three points back to north Londo♏n.

But once the d🙈ust settles, Arteta’s side should be proud of their draw.

Riccardo Calafiori delivers the goods on his first Arsenal start

Speaking after full-time at his press 🦋conference via , Arteta spoke proudly about Arsenal’s display, one full of sp♏irit and defensive quality.

Calafiori wasn’t perfect✅, he was beaten by Savinho on occasion, but the Italian changed the whole complexion of the game for the Gওunners when he scored.

City were dominating and Erling Haaland had found his goal, but the Italian’s thཧunderbolt reignited Arsena🍷l.

Speakin🎐g about ඣCalafiori, Arteta said: “He was great. To have the debut in this context chapeau. He’s got so much character. Really impressed with that.”

Ben White wa💖s carrying an injury before kᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚick off, meaning Jurrien Timber moved to the right.

And it꧋ certainly bodes well for Arteta that he has so many stro💮ng options.

Pep Guardiola also impressed by Riccardo Calafiori on his debut

In thꩲe aftermath of full-time, it wasn’t just Arteta that was impressed with the Italian.

Pep Guardiola praised two Arsenal players including Calafiori, crediting 📖the threatᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ that the Gunners were presenting to his Premier League crown.

Of course, the fixture list will now get slightly ‘easier’ for Arsenal, who have 𒆙already faced three of the toughest away trips on♊ the calendar.

Arteta will welcome Bolton Wanderers to the Emirates on Wednesday in the EFL Cup, a bit 𝄹of a relief in context to the pressure attached to recent fixtures.

And༒ perhaps Raheem Sterling will finally make his first Arsenal start.
