Mikel Arteta has been messaging £50m player about signing for Arsenal for ages

Arsenal are yet to make their first signing of the January transfer window, but they could be closing in on their first signing of 2025.

Indeed, Martin Zubimendi has been linked to Arsenal recently, and while Zubimendi to Arsenal isn’t a done deal yet, this one appears to be on the right track.

Liverpool wanted Zubimendi last summer, but it appears as though Arsenal have now beaten the Reds to the punch.

Speaking on Market Madness, James Benge has been discussing Arsenal’s talks with Zubimendi, and he’s shared some interesting insight intꦦo this deal.

The journalist says that Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have been messaging Zubimendi for ages about joining the Gunners, and now, a deal is extremely likely to go through in tღhe summer.

Benge shared what he knows about the man and his links t🏅o Arsenal.

The journalist says that Arteta has been speaking to Zubimendi about tไhis move for a long time and it would now take a remarkabl൩e turn of events for this transfer to not go through.

“Zubimeꩵndi is extremely likely, it’s not done yet, but Mikel Arteta has been sort of, messages have come from Arteta and the Arsenal side for a long time convincing Zubimendi.

“It would taꦇke a remarkable turn of events for Zubimendi to not be in an Arsenal shirt at the start of next year, I would be really surprised if that doesn’t happen and it’s a credit to Arteta and the Arsenal recruitment team.”

Zubimendi record alongside Alexander Isak

Zubimendi looks set to join Arsenal later this year, but the Span♒iard isn’t the only big-n🍸ame player Arsenal want to sign in 2025.

Indeed, Arsenal also want to sign Alexander Isak.

Now, this is an 🎶interesting potential double swoop from Arsenal as Zubimendi and Isak have played together at Real Sociedad.

Zubimendi🌸 actually played 76 games with Isak durng his time in San Sebastian, and during their time together, they won more games than they lost.

Intere꧂stingly, Martin Odegaard has also played with both players at Sociedad too, so perhaps the Arsenal captain could pull some stri🅠ngs and try to convince both players to make these moves to the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta was actually born in San Sebastian, so he will know all about how Real Sociedad ha🌠ve been doing in recent years, and the spine of his team may well be made up of four former Sociedad players soon, Zubimendi, Isak, Odegaard and Mikel M📖erino.
