Mikel Arteta delivers positive injury update on £34m Arsenal man after Brighton scare
Arsenal’s day against Brighton turned into a bit of a farce yesterday as they dropped points and saw Declan Rice sent off as well.
Despite going 1-0 up against the Seagulls, Rice’s red card in the second half changed the game and allowed Brighton back into the game to draw 1-1.
Of course, the talking point has been around Rice and his red. At the time, Ally McCoist admitted to being confused over the decision, while Ray Parlour branded it a ‘disgrace’ as well.
Arsenal were pretty poor though and even Ian Wright called out Martin Odegaard for a poor performance in the opening 45 minutes.
And to cap things off for Arsenal and Arteta on a miserable day, there was also what looked like an injury to Jurrien Timber.
Timber hobbled off in the 80th minute and looked in some pain and speaking about the Dutchman after the game, Arteta was forced to clarify the situation.

Mikel Arteta shares if Jurrien Timber is injured again
about what looked like a potential injury to Timber, Arteta moved to allay the fears of Arsenal fans by suggesting it was a case of cramp.
“No, he was I think cramping. He got a kick in the first half and was cramping so we had to take him off,” Arteta said.
Timber like a new signing but needs time
It was an impressive performance from Timber in fairness to last how he did against a pacey Brighton attack who had a man advantage.
This really is the best news Arsenal fans could have hoped for and if it was just a bit of cramp, then Timber will be just fine.
The man very much feels like another new signing for Arsenal this season and if he can keep the level he’s shown so far, he’ll not be left out too often.
Hopefully, too, he can remain injury free and as time goes on, the cramps will stop as well.
