Mikel Arteta could sell £50m Arsenal player as soon as US pre-season tour is finished

Arsenal could now be lining up a number of high-profile departures this summer as Mikel Arteta aims to make significant improvements.

Judging by reports, Edu will be conducting something akin to a one in, one out policy at the Emirates this month and next, as Arsenal try to improve but not bloat their squad.

Although Arteta only used a small group of players in last season’s efforts to win the Premier League, Arsenal did possess a sizable squad.

However, the Spaniard simply didn’t appear to trust several of his alternatives to match the level and standards set by his eleven – explaining why the likes of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba rarely received a rest.

This summer is all about fine-tuning for the Gunners, who will want to avoid another fatigue ridden festive period when it arrives.

In terms of who will leave, fan favourites Kieran Tierney and Aaron Ramsdale seem like obvious candidates to depart, who won’t get the first team chances they desire at Arsenal.

And after Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the United States, it seems as if both Reiss Nelson and £50m-rated Eddie Nketiah could follow suit.

Arsenal could sell Eddie Nketiah as soon as they’re back from US tour

It was recently reported that Marseille were in talks to sign Nketiah from Arsenal, who is now third choice striker at the club.

And in addition, Reiss Nelson is keen to leave Arsenal, who has been attracting interest from other Premier League sides.

And according to a new report from , both Nketiah and Nelson are likely to go on tour to the US with Arsenal this month but then could be sold immediately after, before the end of the transfer window.

The information states that Arsenal need to sell players from their front line in order to create opportunities for Edu to add fresh faces.

And in truth, the same can probably be said when it comes to adding the likes of Mikel Merino in midfield.

Arteta loves Merino’s game, but perhaps might need to part ways with someone like Emile Smith Rowe were he to welcome a new number eight.

Incidentally, Arsenal have just rejected a bid from Fulham for Smith Rowe, believing they can extract more value for the Hale-Ender.
