‘Might be sneakily good’: Pundit says Arsenal might have quietly unearthed another 23-year-old gem

Robbie Earle has claimed that Jakub Kiwior may sneakily be a very good signing for Arsenal.

Speaking on , the pundit gave his ‘Underappreciated Performer of the Week’ award to Kiwior for his composed performance against Newcastle, claiming that the Polish defender got through a very tough game against the Magpies without any hint of drama.

That is some going for a player who has only played in a handful of Premier League games as he was going up against one of the most in-form strike forces in England right now as Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson were both bearing down on him throughout the match.

Earle wasn’t blown away by Kiwior by any stretch, but he says he could quietly be a star in the making for the future.

Star of the future

Earle gave his verdict on Kiwior.

“I’m going to give out my underappreciated performer of the week, I’m chucking it out there early, Jakub Kiwior. He had a tough start with the handball could have been, but we got to the right decision. No drama, to go to Newcastle with that atmosphere, that forward line, that type of game with very little Premier League experience. He looks calm, he looks composed. No dramas. He’s not been brilliant, but to not say anything about his is a compliment, you didn’t really notice him. He’s a sneaky good little signing who might be sneakily good in the future,” Earle said.

Understated

Arsenal’s signing of Kiwior in January really did go under the radar.

Yes, most of the focus was on the pursuit of Mykhaylo Mudryk and the eventual signings of Leandro Trossard and Jorginho, but when all is said and done, Kiwior could well be the best addition Arsenal made in January.

At the age of just 23, he has loads of room to grow, he has great defensive awareness, and he’s a left-footer, an attribute that in itself is vital to any squad composition these days.

Don’t be surprised if Kiwior makes more and more headlines in the coming months.
