Micky van de Ven and James Maddison seriously impressed with Tottenham star after 3-0 win at Man United
Whilst the inquest begins at Manchester United, the Tottenham Hotspur players and fans are travelling back to north London in buoyant spirits.
Tottenham have now won four games on the bounce in all competitions, and Ange Postecoglou masterminded a brilliant win at Old Trafford.
Spurs were without their captain Son Heung-min but didn’t lack any belief for their trip to Manchester, when the likes of Micky van de Ven and Brennan Johnson shone.
Johnson was incredibly impressed with Van de Ven, hailing him as the fastest player in the league after his brilliant assist early in the first half.
Tottenham were vibrant in attack, even if Timo Werner wasn’t quite able to make the most of his chances one versus one – a familiar story.
Dominic Solanke makes it three goals in three games for Tottenham
Of course, Spurs’ attack was once again spearheaded by Dominic Solanke who eventually got his poachers goal late on.
Solanke was an excellent focal point for Tottenham throughout, able to make it three goals in three games, even if he may have been disappointed not to score a second.

After 180 minutes in a Spurs shirt, talk of Solanke’s ‘barren run’ seemed very premature, and the striker is now proving as such.
That being said, after scoring at Old Trafford, Solanke took to to celebrate the win.
The striker shared four photos from Spurs’ victory in the rain alongside a caption of: “Big result today, let’s keep this momentum. COYS.”
Van de Ven, James Maddison and Pedro Porro all replied, with Solanke’s England teammate even taking time to goad him over his missed chance at the end.

Timo Werner failed to take his chance at Old Trafford
As mentioned, Werner wasn’t able to add to his tally in a Tottenham shirt against United, wasting more than one big chance in front of goal.
And after the German’s miss in the second half, Tottenham fans began to sing about Mikey Moore, seemingly asking Postecoglou to make the switch.
Of course, Moore did eventually get his chance and nearly scored a goal to remember at Old Trafford, firing a powerful effort just past Andre Onana’s left post.
It would be harsh to say that Werner wasted his opportunity entirely, he was still exciting on the left – doing everything right other than the finish.
And perhaps an away trip to Ferencvaros in the Europa League could be the perfect chance for the German to restore some confidence in front of goal, should he keep his spot.
