Mick McCarthy has a message for Tottenham Hotspur fans regarding Troy Parrott

Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy has given some advice to Tottenham Hotspur fans regarding their young talent Troy Parrott. The teenager was recently called up by McCarthy for the🐲 Ireland senior team for the first time for upcoming friendlies with New Zealand 🍸and Denmark. 

It comes after a stellar season for both Tottenham and Ireland’s youth teams so far for the 17-year-old. He recently scored four goals in a UEFA Youth League clash with Red Star Belgrade and netted three goals in two caps for the Irish under-21s in Septemꦐber. The teenager also made his senior Tottenham debut against Col♚chester United in the EFL Cup.

However, , the Irish boss told Tottenham fans to t✱emper their expectations of the playe♋r and reminding them he is not yet a full senior player.

“He’s in the squad and he’ll have a chance of playing…He scored four goals against Red Star Belgrade and we don’t score that many, so if he’s in that kind of form it might be time for him.”

“Yeah they [Tottenham fans] do [want him to play], but whether they are ready or not to play is another matter.

“The excitement was at the start of the season when he went to a pre-season tour and he played in pre-season friendlies.

“There’s a big difference between playing in 21s, 23s or playing in the first team. If he’s in a rich vein of goalscoring form, we’ll have a look at him.”

TBR’s View

It has been something of aܫ dull season for Tottenham so far this campaign and Parrott has been one of the only reasons to be excited. 

Perhaps that is why Tott𝓀enham fans are perhaps going overboard with th🗹e Irishman’s potential for stardom. 

But there is no doubt Parrott has bags of talent and ⛎can become a star for club and country. Tottenham fans will hope he can make an impact with his nation next month.
