Michy Batshuayi could be another success story like Kurt Zouma at Everton

The immediate response from many an Everton fan has been a mere shrug of the shoulder. Batshuayi? A Chelsea flop? Can’t buy a goal at Valencia? Booted the ball into his own face at the World Cup? Surely they can do better?

However, the arrival of Kurt Zouma was met with similar scepticism in the summer. The Frenchman’s loan move to Everton was something of a surprise for Toffees fans, especially with Yerry Mina arriving.

However, of the three main centre-backs at Everton, Mina, Zouma and Michael Keane, the Chelsea loanee has probably been the best of the bunch.

Everton desperately need a goalscoring striker and, when given confidence, Batshuayi is certainly that. Nine goals in 14 games with Dortmund last season acts as proof.

Perhaps Batshuayi just needs a chance and Everton might be the team to give it to him.
