Michel Vorm explains confidence in Tottenham goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga
Michel Vorm has explained he’s confident that Paulo Gazzaniga can do a great job stepping in as Tottenham’s number one goalkeeper.
Spurs have re-signed 35-year-old shot-stopper Vorm during the international break to provide extra cover in the squad.
The North London club have seen their number one Hugo Lloris ruled out through injury until 2020 and it looks like Gazzaniga will get his opportunity in net, with Vorm acting as his back-up.
Gazzaniga, who earns £20,000-a-week (), has impressed with his limited time on the pitch for the North London club.
The Argentine has played just 15 senior games for Spurs since he joined in 2017 and is now set for his first real extended chance in goal.
Vorm is “100 per cent” certain that the South American can step up to replace Lloris during a testing time for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
They conceded 10 goals in their last two games across all competitions before the international break and need a big response.
“I have worked with him for a few years and I saw his quality from the beginning. He’s a good lad and he’s also a guy who has a good strong mentality,”
“I think he will bring good energy with him and I’m 100 per cent sure he will do a great job.”

TBR’s View:
Gazzaniga has to seize the major chance given to him during the next couple of months and ensure that Lloris has a real fight to win his spot back next year.
He’s someone that is confident in playing out from the back and can make athletic saves too, but Spurs need him to keep it simple during a spell when results are crucial.
The return of experienced goalkeeper Vorm seems like a smart move and he will be a wise brain for Gazzaniga to pick.
