Michail Antonio shares what Kalvin Phillips has just told him about Kevin De Bruyne

West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has shared what Kalvin Phillips has told him about Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.

Kalvin Phillips made the switch to West Ham last month after a difficult 18 months in Manchester.

The Englishman scooped a treble with Man City but struggled to nail down a place in Pep Guardiola’s side. It led to him seeking out a temporary switch away from the Etihad Stadium ahead of Euro 2024.

The 28-year-old will spend the rest of the campaign at the London Stadium, with the Hammers having the option to buy the former Leeds United star

And after linking up with his new teammates in east London, it would appear that Michail Antonio was desperate to quiz the midfielder on Kevin De Bruyne.

Antonio shares what Phillips has said about De Bruyne

Speaking on Monday Night Football, Antonio shared what Phillips has told him about De Bruyne after joining West Ham.

“When Kalvin came to West Ham the first thing I said to him is how good is Kevin de Bruyne really,” the Hammers striker said on .

“He went outstanding, he sees passes that nobody else sees. He says all you need to do is run and he will find your feet. When him and [Erling] Haaland are together, I see an assist!”

De Bruyne has made a huge impact after returning from a hamstring injury last month.

The 32-year-old has grabbed three assists and netted one goal in three appearances since his return.

He continues to prove himself as the most efficient playmaker in the Premier League and it’s no real surprise to hear Phillips rave about the Belgian’s ability.

Of course, Phillips struggled for minutes at City largely down to Guardiola’s wealth of options in midfield.

But the Englishman will have undoubtedly benefitted from playing alongside the likes of De Bruyne and Rodri for the past 18 months.
