Michael Zorc comments on Julian Brandt’s future amid reported Arsenal interest
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has been quoted by that there is “nothing on the table” from Arsenal or indeed any other clubs for midfielder Julian Brandt, despite reports.
Brandt, 24, joined Dortmund in the summer of 2019 from Bayer Leverkusen and instantly starred for Dortmund. He clocked up 42 appearances in all competitions during 2019-20, scoring seven goals and creating 13 assists.
But his form this season has been poor. Making 22 appearances, he has managed just one goal and one assists. Arsenal are said to be keen on bringing in an attacking midfielder despite the form of Emile Smith-Rowe.
Arsenal have made an enquiry to sign Brandt from Dortmund but Zorc has denied anything of the sort, stating that nothing has been tabled for the Germany international so far.
“There is nothing on the table at the moment,” said Zorc in a presser. “We can’t do anything about rumours that are constantly being spread that simply don’t reflect the truth. There’s currently no interest.”

TBR’s view – Brandt would be a top signing for Arsenal
Even if his form has been questionable of late. At his best, Brandt is a proper player and one of those that is capable of creating something from nothing. Could he produce said form in England? Time will tell.
But the Bundesliga and Premier League are somewhat similar in terms of physicality and pace. Brandt has already clocked up 279 appearances at professional level despite his tender age – and has 35 Germany caps.
An experienced 24-year-old, Brandt would be ideal for Arsenal – especially with Mesut Ozil looking likely to depart.
