Michael Owen slams ‘reckless’ Arsenal player after what he did vs Manchester City

Arsenal drew 2-2 with Manchester City on Sunday in one of the Premier League’s most entertaining games of the season so far.

John Stones’ 98th-minute equaliser saw the points shared as Arsenal came within seconds of a historic win at the🦩 Etihad Stadium, with the Gunners playing the entire second half with just ten men on the field.

With Gary Neville praising Jurrien Timber and Mikel Arteta revealing that Ben White wasn’t even meant to play, Arsenal’s defensive performance was near-perfect had they not♌ conceded an equaliser so late into the game.

Yet Michael Owen has now criticised one Arsenal𓃲 player for what they did against City.

Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard criticised after red card incident vs Man City

Speaking on , the former Liverpool and Newcastle United striker was critical of Leandro Trossard and how the Arsenal attackerꦯ went about getting sent off against City, with the 🎐Belgian international fouling Bernardo Silva before booting the ball away.

With Chris Sutton also critical of Trossard and his second yellow card against City, Arsenal coಌuld have seen out the win had the £20m forward kept his composure𝔉 and remained cool heading into half-time at the Etihad.

And Owen believes that the incident could have gone unnoticed entirely if it wasn’t T⛎rossard, of all players, who had caused the scene, with the former Brighton & Hove🌳 Albion star already in the book for a foul earlier in the game.

Owen said o🔯n Trossard’s red card: “If somebody else had made that foul and the⛦n kicked it [referee Michael Oliver] might not notice it, but he created a foul, a reckless foul, he heard the whistle, then kicked it away. He’s got nobody to blame but himself.”

Trossard knows he let Arsenal down against City

A lot has ben made on Trossard’s red card with whataboutery spreading amongst Arsenal fans on why the winger was seen a yellow card yet City’s Jeremy Doku escaped the same punishment earlier in the match for also kicking the bal🐷l away.

Yet unlike Declan Rice against Brighton, it’s clear that Trossard made a massive error with both the initial foul on Silva and then b𒉰ooting the ball away, wit🎃h Michael Oliver making the right call in giving the Arsenal attacker a second yellow card.

And Trossard will now know in retrospect that the let Arsenal down in what has been their biggest game of the season, with the extra man giving City all the advantage they need to eventually wear the Gunners down at the score the crucial equalising g꧙oal.
