‘I’d be pointing at him’: Michael Owen says Klopp does something ‘extraordinary’ at Liverpool that he can’t get over
Liverpool saw off Everton yesterday as Divock Origi once again cemented his legacy as a cult-hero with yet another derby goal.
Origi climbed off the bench on the hour mark and headed in the crucial second goal with around ten minutes to go to seal a big win for the Reds. It means both Liverpool and City won again this weekend and the battle for the summit continues into another week.

For Klopp, it was another example of his squad delivering when it mattered. And speaking after the game, former Liverpool striker, Michael Owen, admitted he doesn’t know how Klopp keeps everyone so happy, especially Origi.
“It shows you how important a big squad and keeping everyone fit is. And even more important, keeping everybody happy. If I was a centre-forward and every time I came on I was scoring goals and digging them out of a hole and then I hardly play at all, to have that inside you to give your manager a hug, I’d be pointing at him saying ‘play me more, look what I can do’,” Owen said on .
“But the relationship between the manager and all the players is just extraordinary really. And it just shows great management, it’s great man management, and it’s great timing of substitutes.”
Liverpool are still on course for a historic quadruple. They take on Villarreal this week in the Champions League before facing Newcastle away at the weekend.
TBR’s View: Klopp The Master Motivator At Liverpool
This is such a good point by Owen and it really is baffling how Klopp manages to do it. Yes, Origi will be leaving this summer but to still get big moments out of him is quite extraordinary.
Origi will go on and do well elsewhere you feel. But he will be remembered at Liverpool forever and will always be welcome at Anfield.
