Michael Bridge shares Marc Guehi transfer update amid Newcastle links

Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal have just four of the clubs said to have been eyeing Marc Guehi this summer.

Newcastle currently appear to be the most interested suitors, while Liverpool cult hero Danny Murphy has tipped the Reds to move for the Crystal Palace ace.

As for Tottenham, Alasdair Gold said in June that Spurs really like Guehi, while north London rivals Arsenal were linked with the Eagles man some weeks ago.

With just two weeks left of the summer transfer window, clubs will need to increase their efforts if they want to get him over the line.

Now, Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has shared an update on the Guehi state of play, with one club actively pushing for him.

Crystal Palace set to snub latest Newcastle offer for Marc Guehi

Bridge, speaking on , said Newcastle have tried their luck with a package worth in the region of £65million plus add-ons.

The Magpies failed with a £60million package for Guehi earlier this week, but talks have continued.

However, Bridge has reported that Palace are set to reject Newcastle’s latest offer.

The Magpies’ most recent offer came inclusive of add-ons, though the structure of the deal was never agreed with Palace, .

Palace playing hardball over Guehi as race remains open

Newcastle are determined to get a deal over the line for Guehi, but it doesn’t look as though they will be fourth time lucky.

However, the Magpies may well be getting closer. It seems like the issue is now the structure of the deal as opposed to the fee.

At the same time, the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal will be mindful that the race is still open.

If they want to hijack the move – and they would be getting a superb defender by doing so – they’re still in time.
