Arsenal have been linked with a number of new players heading into this summer transfer window.
Indeed, a plethora of new midfielders and attackers have been linked with a move to the Emirates, but perhaps the most intriguing link has been to a new defensive player.
Nottingham Forest’s Murillo has been linked with a move to Arsenal as of late, and speaking on , Micah Richards has had nothing but good things to say about the defender.

Micah Richards praises Murillo
Richards spoke highly of Murillo and some of his Forest teammates.
“Yeah, Elanga has been very good, Hudson-Odoi has been very good, Morgan Gibbs-White,” Richards said.
“But the centre-half Murillo, he is a player. Lovely left foot. The way he comes out, breaks the lines, yeah, they have got some good players.”
Murillo looks talented
Richards is spot on, Murillo looks like a very talented player, but it has to be said he doesn’t look like much of a defender.
Whenever anyone praises Murillo, it seems to be for his dribbling ability or his passing quality, not for how well he defends, and that would potentially be a problem if he joined a top club.
There’s no getting away from the fact that Forest’s defensive record this season has been terrible, and that almost led to relegation from the Premier League.
Murillo looks a class above in that sort of team, but we’re yet to see how the Brazilian would cope at a top club where he has to be much more defensively solid.
Of course, at the age of just 21, this young man has plenty of room to grow and improve, but it may be wise to approach this sort of move with caution.
The man is a talent, but it’s not quite clear whether he’s ready to play for a top club yet.
