Micah Richards posts one-word Instagram verdict on Tottenham decision, leaps to the defence of Nuno
Micah Richards has reacted on Instagram to the news that Tottenham have sacked Nuno Espirito Santo, with a one-word verdict – defending Nuno.
Nuno, 47, was sacked on Monday morning. Daniel Levy had seen enough, after watching Tottenham suffer a 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United.
The Portuguese manager leaves Tottenham with the North London outfit in eighth place in the Premier League. They remain comfortable in Europe.
But five defeats in 10 league games has proven too much – losing to United, Arsenal, Palace, Chelsea and West Ham. Four, of course, from London.
It sees Nuno leave Spurs after just four months. But many believe that it is the players that need to change, or even the club’s chairman, Daniel Levy.
Richards gave his one-word verdict on the decision,. He thinks Nuno has been made a “scapegoat”.

Richards on Tottenham sacking: Is Nuno right to be axed?
Or is it simply an impossible job with players given too much power in the dressing room – despite their struggling performances off the pitch?
Nuno looked bereft of ideas, despite trying numerous formations and players. He even had the benefit of the Europa Conference League.
Nuno has failed – but not all of the poor form can be thrown out at his door. Spurs are low on the running stats and a lack of effort or belief is clear.
The players need to take some blame. Perhaps a name like Antonio Conte will get the best of out of the Tottenham playeres – time will tell.
