Micah Richards explains why ‘intelligent’ Heung-min Son is unstoppable
BBC and Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards has been discussing the recent form and partnership of Tottenham Hotspur stars Heung-min Son and Harry Kane this week, highlighting what makes Son so unstoppable at present.
Son and Kane combined for both of Tottenham’s goals in the 2-0 North London derby win over Arsenal at the weekend.
Son scored the first with a superb long-range effort whilst Kane smashed in the second after being laid in by the South Korean.
The duo’s blistering partnership has helped Tottenham to the Premier League summit and Richards has explained how the incisive running of Son is nearly impossible to stop for opposing defenders.

“Kane is dropping so deep now sometimes I think he could actually play a midfield role his passing has got so much better,” Richards. “But I think the important thing is runners. When you’ve got Son, who is willing to run in behind There’s no point Spurs coming that deep and working hard but then they’ve got no outlet.
“I think because they’ve got Son, who not only wants to run in behind he makes intelligent runs, it works for their system. People can say ‘oh we can stop it’ but you can’t stop that if someone is intelligent and quicker than you. You can’t stop that.”
Richards is well-placed to comment on what might be unstoppable down the left-hand side. The former Manchester City and England right-back would have had his hands full against this pairing, even before injuries hampered his own career.
Kane and Son are looking a massive threat for Tottenham this season and if they can stay fit there is every chance Jose Mourinho might finally bring some silverware to Spurs.
Richards, like so many others, is right to eulogise.
