Metz president admits reported Leeds United target Habib Diallo will be sold, player unsure of future
Leeds United were handed a boost this week when Metz president confirmed that reported Whites target Habib Diallo would be allowed to leave the club this summer.
Bernard Serin that the time had come for Diallo to leave and that should have Leeds interested.
“He is 24-years-old, it is time for him to pursue his career elsewhere. Our objective is to sell Habib Diallo and leave more room in the attack for Ibrahima Niane.”
The Championship leaders were linked with a move for the Senegalese player back in the Senegalese frontman is on the radar of the West Yorkshire club ahead of the next transfer window should they win promotion to the Premier League.
That report suggested Metz could be interested in selling the player, should a team match his €20 million (£17.5m) valuation. A later report suggested Leeds would be hoping to do a deal at €15 million (£13.1m).

Either price-tag would make Diallo Leeds United’s most expensive striker ever, beating the £11 million paid for Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane in 2001.
Now, the player has also commented on his future. Diallo, who is also from Chelsea, was speaking on Instagram Live when he admitted he does not know if he will remain at the club this season. The striker then referenced Liverpool, a destination that appears unlikely given their current status and transfer targets.
“I don’t know if I’m going to leave or stay. I still have two years left on my contract at Metz. I’m watching Liverpool.”
Leeds United are right to be keeping tabs n Diallo and it sounds increasingly like his future is up in the air. The 24-year-old has scored 12 goals in 27 games for the French club this season and Leeds could certainly use more potent firepower in attack.
